2 dead, 1 hurt after 3 separate Baltimore shootings overnight

Two people were killed, and one was injured, after three separate shootings were reported in Baltimore overnight, according to police. 

The incidents come after Baltimore saw its fewest monthly homicides since at least 1970 in April. 

The latest three incidents bring the yearly homicide total to 35 compared to 39 reported at this time last year, according to police data. So far this year, 94 non-fatal shootings have been recorded, compared to 104 at this time last year. 

Overnight violent crime 

On Wednesday, May 6, around 11:25 p.m., police were called to the 1800 block of Durham Street in East Baltimore after gunshots were reported. 

Officers arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. He has yet to be identified.

Around 2 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to the 6200 block of Eastern Avenue in the city's Joseph Lee neighborhood for a reported shooting. 

A 37-year-old man was found on the scene with a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, police said. 

Later Thursday morning, around 3:15 a.m., police were called to the West Forest Park neighborhood in the 4400 block of Norfolk Avenue for a shooting. 

Officers searched the area and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died, police said. 

A crime scene was found in the 4400 block of Fairview Avenue, revealing where the man was shot, according to police.
