Orioles Field Jumper Tackled By Umpire And Arrested
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Friday night during the Orioles' game against Oakland, Baltimore police arrested Christopher Fatkin, 20, after he jumped onto the field during the bottom of the seventh inning.
Fatkin removed his shirt and ran from the second base area to home plate before being tacked by Plate Umpire Jeff Kellogg. Fatkin was immediately arrested and transported to Baltimore's Central Booking & Intake Facility where he was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.
At the start of the game and during the 2nd, 4th & 6th innings, attendees were warned by public address system that jumping onto the field is prohibited and doing so would result in arrest. In addition to Fatkin's arrest, police and security officials made 48 ejections.
Kellogg could face potential suspension by Major League Baseball despite helping police catch the unruly fan.
