Md. Police Find Body Of Missing Del. Woman
MANOKIN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland state police say a body found buried on unoccupied property in rural Somerset County has been identified as that of a missing Delaware woman.
Whitney Bennett of Delmar, Del., was reported missing by her mother in December. She was last seen alive in Wicomico County. Her body was recovered Saturday and identified Sunday.
Police say the cause and manner of death remain undetermined and that more forensic examination and tests will be conducted.
While no one has been charged in Bennett's death, police have arrested two men in connection with her disappearance. Steven Akers, 36, and Claude Hill, 49, both of Fruitland, are charged with accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice. They're believed to have known Bennett.
