Md. Man Charged With Killing Federal Witness

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore man has been indicted on charges of killing a federal witness -- a charge that could land him on federal death row.

An indictment unsealed Friday says 30-year-old Antonio Hall shot and killed Kareem Guest in September 2009 in retaliation for Guest's cooperation with the FBI and Baltimore police.

Guest had been sharing information about drug trafficking in Westport, a rundown south Baltimore neighborhood. Federal prosecutors say he was killed after a report of his FBI interview was shared with a defense attorney and made its way to people in Westport.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein says the case shows what happens when sensitive information is not protected.

Hall's attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
