Marylanders Praying For Bobbi Kristina

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The daughter of the late Whitney Houston remains in a Georgia hospital after being found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home over the weekend.

Marcus Washington has more on how this incident is affecting people in Maryland.

It was nearly three years ago that Bobbi Kristina's mother, Whitney Houston, was found dead in a hotel bathtub, so for the 21-year-old to face a similar predicament---many Houston fans say it's a mirror image that no one imagined would happen.

By default, she was in the spotlight because of her singer parents Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston---but now 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina is making headlines in a way no one would have imagined.

"It kind of exploded online on Facebook and Twitter and everything like that," said Terry Tasi.

On Saturday, Bobbi Kristina was revived after being found unresponsive in a bathtub inside her Atlanta suburb home by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend.

"History repeating itself: depression, addiction," said Peter Newman. "I'm not sure what really happened but it's sad."

Her famous and beloved mother Whitney Houston died nearly three years to the day in a hotel bathtub.

"I just thought of it as very shocking. It was so surreal, deja vu," said Craig Enck.

As of Monday afternoon, Bobbi Kristina remains in the hospital and many fans of her mother say they are hoping and praying for a recovery.

"I just hope that she is okay and she is in my prayers. I hope everything will be alright and she will come out of it," said Stephanie Dooley.

For many Houston fans in Baltimore, Bobbi Kristina's condition is heartbreaking.

"For her daughter to go through the same thing...it's like a double whammy. I just can't even understand how that could happen," said Keith Harris.

From social media to the radio, Bobbi Kris---as she is often called---is on the minds and hearts of Baltimore.

"Obviously, we are all just hoping and waiting, seeing what was the cause," said Terry Tasi.

She was found unresponsive but has been revived. She is reportedly in a medically induced coma and breathing through a ventilator. There is reportedly low brain function but reports say doctors have seen some brain activity.

Police say there was no sign of a struggle or of drugs in the home.
