BALTIMORE- Scattered thunderstorms are possible tonight. A few rounds of storms are likely Memorial Day, some could be severe.

The WJZ First Alert Weather Team has issued an ALERT DAY for Monday for the possibility of severe storms. Storms could contain damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes. The greatest risk for severe storms would be during the afternoon & evening hours. The storms will come in several rounds, so don't expect a washout of a day.

Our first round of storms will arrive tonight. This first batch of storms could bring strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning to the area. The best chance for this first round of storms will be after 10 PM and continue through the early overnight hours. While widespread severe weather doesn't appear likely, a few storms may have damaging wind gusts. Lows will be warm and muggy in the upper 60s & lower 70s.

Memorial Day Monday will be a busy weather day. We will see rounds of showers and strong thunderstorms. Another batch of storms will likely impact us Memorial Day Morning, which means some services may be enduring rain and thunder. We'll likely see a few breaks in the rain throughout the day with warm and humid conditions. The thunderstorms later in the day and the evening have the potential to be severe with damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes. There still is some uncertainty with how widespread storms are, so please keep checking back for updates to the forecast.

Tuesday will be much nicer. There will be a leftover stray thunderstorm, but most of the day is quiet.

Wednesday looks like another busy weather day with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing. The storms will be most widespread during the afternoon and evening hours. Some of the storms may have gusty winds and small hail.

We enter into a quiet, comfortable, and beautiful weather pattern beginning Thursday and continuing into at least the start of next weekend. Expect sunshine with highs in the 70s.
