Mark Trumbo Declines Orioles Qualifying Offer
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- OF Mark Trumbo has declined the Orioles' $17.2-million qualifying offer for the 2017 season, becoming a free agent.
After leading the league in home runs, Trumbo is surely in high demand. Trumbo was acquired last winter in a trade that sent Steve Clevenger to Seattle. Trumbo had played for three teams in three years: the Angels, the Diamondbacks, and the Mariners.

So, what does this mean?
If Trumbo decides to sign with another team, the Orioles will earn a compensatory draft pick.
This is the first time Trumbo has been a free agent since he joined the major leagues in 2010.
