Man Tries To Flee With Toddler After Multi-Vehicle & Pedestrian Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— A driver struck two vehicles, a shuttle bus, pedestrian and pole before trying to flee on foot with a toddler. It happened Wednesday afternoon in downtown Baltimore.

Police say the black Acura first struck a vehicle and then a shuttle bus at Light and Pratt Street. The shuttle bus had several passengers on board, none of whom have reported injuries.

The driver then continued onto Lombard and Charles Streets, where it struck another vehicle and then a pedestrian.

The vehicle came to a stop after striking a pole.  At that point, the driver of the vehicle then removed a toddler from the backseat and attempted to flee on foot.

Police say he was apprehended quickly as a result of numerous 911 calls.

The toddler, pedestrian and driver have all been transported to area hospitals.

The toddler was transported as a precaution only.

The driver sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The pedestrian is being treated for serious injuries.
