Video Captures Moment Man Flies Off Water Slide Into Ravine

Yikes! One moment you're flying down a water slide, having the time of your life. The next, you're plummeting to the ground, thinking, "This is going to hurt."

That's what happened to David Salmon of Decatur, Texas. Video captured the moment a fun day for him somewhere near Austin suddenly turned into pain and regret as he went flying off the slide and into a rocky ravine.

The video, which was uploaded to Facebook on Monday, has already been viewed 1.8 million times and shared by nearly 1,700 users. "Too dang old to be going down water slides," Salmon wrote. "Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff."

Salmon can be seen trying to slow himself down while rounding a bend, but moments later he goes up and over the side of the slide backwards. The person filming seems to recognize the gravity of the situation and immediately stops recording.

According to his post, Salmon broke his arm and several ribs. He also reported suffering a number of lacerations, but found a silver lining: he did not require surgery.
