NORTH EAST, Md. (AP) -- The Cecil County Sheriff's Office says a man was killed and two men were hurt when their sport utility vehicle left the road near Northeast and rolled several times.

Cody Richardson of Perryville, who graduated last month from Perryville High School and was a track and field athlete, died Wednesday at Union Hospital in Elkton.

Richardson was a passenger in a car driven by Steven Gary Thornton of Port Deposit. Deputies say Thornton, 18, lost control of the SUV near Gravel Pit and Ebenezer Church roads.

Thornton and another passenger, Brady Alan McDaniel, 18, of Colora, were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
