Man facing murder charges after body found near Baltimore's Gwynns Falls Trail

A man is facing murder charges after a body was found near Gwynns Falls Trail in Baltimore, police said Thursday. 

Officers responded to the 2800 block of West Baltimore Street on Tuesday, Jan. 20, where 33-year-old Dashond Johnson was found dead in a wooded area. 

It was later determined that Johnson was killed on Jan. 2, according to police. There were signs of trauma to his body, officers said.  

On Thursday, police said 30-year-old Eric Jones was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Johnson. 

Jones is facing first- and second-degree murder charges and was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, according to officials.
