Man Dies Days After Bus Runs Over His Leg

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police in Washington say a man whose leg was run over by a Metrobus has died.

Officers say about 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 3, 64-year-old Reginald Rubin Burrell of Washington was getting off a bus on Bladensburg Road N.E. Authorities say Burrell lost his balance, fell against the bus and on the ground.

Investigators say the bus driver, unaware that Burrell had fallen, pulled the vehicle away, and ran over Burrell's leg.

Police say Burrell was admitted to a hospital and died on Tuesday. Officers say the cause of death is believed to be complications from the injuries he suffered.

The incident remains under investigation.
