Jim Hunter joined Scott and Jeremy to talk about tonight's starter Tyler Wilson and also about the Mark Trumbo/Steve Clevenger trade. Hunter praised Tyler Wilson for his work ethic and how hard he worked to get to this point.
"A lot of people think when you're picked that low you don't have a chance, but he is very intelligent and very competitive….He had no idea he was going to be on the team; he went out and earned it. He earned it in the bullpen, and I really like his attitude and how he attacks the strike zone, and I also like how he doesn't care about strike outs," said Hunter.
Hunter also commended Orioles GM Dan Duquette, who pulled off acquiring a steal in Mark Trumbo for just Steve Clevenger. Through 25 games, Trumbo is hitting .337 (33-98) with eight home runs and 22 RBI.
"That's one of the better trades that Dan Duquette has ever made. Clevenger likely was not making the club. It was a good organizational move. Now you use your inventory to go out and get someone who can help your club. Now all of a sudden you have someone who is helping on a nightly basis."
