Irene Prompts Frostburg State Univ. Flexibility

FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) -- Frostburg State University says Hurricane Irene is affecting its student registration plans, even though the storm isn't expected to have much impact in far western Maryland.

Officials said Friday that unregistered students who were scheduled to arrive Sunday morning can check in Saturday afternoon instead. Registered students facing hazardous travel conditions are encouraged to delay check-in until Monday or Tuesday.

Classes begin on Wednesday.
