House Speaker Michael Busch To Endorse Brown For Governor

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A spokeswoman for House Speaker Michael Busch says he will be endorsing Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown's bid to be the next governor of Maryland.

Alexandra Hughes said the speaker will announce his endorsement on Thursday in Annapolis.

Brown, a Democrat, served in the House of Delegates before Gov. Martin O'Malley chose him to be his running mate in 2005. Brown served two terms representing Prince George's County, and he rose to the position of majority whip in the chamber.

Brown also has been endorsed by O'Malley, who is term limited, and Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller.

Brown is running against Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur for the Democratic nomination.
