Frederick County Deputies Connect Crash, Shooting
THURMONT, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County Sheriff's officials are investigating a crash-related death and a shooting that is apparently related.
Deputies were called to the area of Black Road and Eylers Valley Flint Road early Saturday morning after a body was discovered in the roadway. Police say 18-year-old Brandon Herbert of Thurmont man was found dead, and there was evidence he was injured in a vehicle crash.
Investigators later learned Herbert had been with a friend earlier. Deputies responded to the friend's residence and found a damaged truck that appeared to be connected to debris at the crash site. They also found an 18-year-old Seth Fisher of Thurmont inside the home. Police say he appeared to be suffering from a
self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Fisher was being treated Saturday for his injuries.
