Former guitarist for Baltimore-based rock band Turnstile faces attempted murder charges
A former guitarist for the Baltimore-based rock band Turnstile is facing second-degree attempted murder charges after he allegedly hit the lead singer's dad with a car near his Maryland home.
Brady Ebert, 33, was located in his Silver Spring neighborhood and was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 31, two days after police said he struck his 78-year-old neighbor with his 2001 Buick. The neighbor was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, which included a broken leg.
Turnstile cut ties with Ebert in 2022 because of a "consistent pattern of harmful behavior, according to our media partner, The Baltimore Banner.
The 78-year-old man is the father of Turnstile lead singer Brendan Yates, the Banner reports. According to charging documents obtained by CBS News Baltimore, since Ebert was removed from the band, he has been causing issues with the family.
Turnstile wrote on Instagram, "Our love for him continues and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
Police: Argument leads to a man being struck by a car
Police said officers responded around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, to the 15000 block of Timberlake Drive for a reported hit-and-run collision.
Investigators said Ebert was involved in an argument with his 78-year-old neighbor in the neighbor's driveway. Police said Ebert intentionally drove his car, struck the neighbor, and took off.
Officers searched the area for Ebert and his 2001 Buick, which was found unoccupied with front-end damage in the 15000 block of Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville.
An arrest warrant was issued against Ebert after police reviewed surveillance video. Ebert was found in his neighborhood and was arrested, police said.

During the band's victory speech, lead singer Brendan Yates gave a shoutout to Baltimore, saying, "To Baltimore, thank you, we love you."
