Fire Kills 5-Year-Old In Charles County
LA PLATA, Md. (AP) -- An official says a house fire has killed a 5-year-old and seriously injured a 2-year-old in Charles County.
County public information officer Crystal Hunt says the blaze started just after 6 a.m. Thursday in the 6800-block of Arbor Lane in the Bryans Road area. She says the 2-year-old was taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries.
Hunt says she does not know how many people were in the home when the fire started. She says the fire was put out before 7 a.m.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
