BALTIMORE -- Popular Baltimore rapper Delon Bushrod Jr., who went by LonnieDaGoat, was killed in a shooting in Cherry Hill in September 2022.
Just over a year after the murder on Bookert Drive in South Baltimore, Bushrod's family strung up balloons in the same spot he was found dead.
His mother, Kia Fenner Bushrod, said a light left the world when he died.
"He was my only son, so it's just my daughter now," Fenner Bushrod said. "He was a big loss, we miss him so much. I want answers for my child. That was a cowardly act and justice will be served."
LonnieDaGoat's music videos on YouTube have racked up millions of views. Fenner Bushrod said many of his fans have been reaching out to her and other family members since his death.
"The love has been real," she said.
But, she just wants whoever killed her son to be held accountable, saying to them, "You will reap what you sow because what goes around comes around. Karma is real."
LonnieDaGoat's family is hosting a celebration of his life on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Town Center, located at 628 Cherry Hill Road.
The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder.
