ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say a woman has died after she rear-ended a vehicle in Rockville.

Police say about 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Patricia Greer Parks, 56, of Olney was driving near the intersection of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road when she struck the rear of a vehicle that had slowed for traffic.

Officers say Parks and the other driver, Ellen Margaret Girdharry, 51, of Rockville, were walking around when police arrived. Parks complained of pain and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The accident is under investigation.
