D.C. Police Cruiser Taken For Joy Ride
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police in Washington say a sergeant faces discipline after he left his cruiser running while investigating a 911 call and it was taken for a joyride.
Police say the thief crashed the cruiser nearby and fled the scene Monday afternoon. Cmdr. Robert Contee, who heads the 6th District station, says the squad car suffered minor damage, and there were no weapons inside the vehicle at the time.
Contee says the crash occurred in the 1600-block of Fort Davis Place in Southeast.
