Court Finds Frederick Nonprofit Chief In Contempt
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The former head of a Frederick charity that employed developmentally disabled adults is going to jail for refusing to cooperate with an investigation into its failure.
The Frederick News-Post reports that Jeanne Dalaba was sentenced Tuesday for contempt.
The former director of the Jeanne Bussard Center could spend six months in jail unless she produces missing computer and business records, repays the center $51,000 and reimburses a court-appointed receiver for chasing down false leads.
She also could face perjury charges for lying under oath and creating false documents.
Dalaba testified in October that the board voted to close the center, pay her $49,000 and give her three used cars. An investigator found that two of the three board members she named didn't exist.
