BLOG: Sign JJ Hardy...Please
As the trade deadline approaches, cross your fingers that the Orioles get a new deal done with JJ Hardy. He is a free agent at the end of this year, and is the Orioles most tradeable commodity. If the O's don't (or can't) re-sign him, they are back to square one next year, needing a shortstop, just like they'll need a leftfielder, 1st baseman and maybe 2nd baseman, plus pitching help. Overpay Hardy if you have to, but convince him to sign a new deal before the end of the month.
