BLOG: Hot Weather, Storm Ahead
Clouds and spotty showers are moving through the state today along a warm front. That front will eventually push off to the northeast, allowing clouds to mix with some breaks of sunshine as we move through the afternoon. Temperatures are slow to climb with all of the clouds around. We are only around 80 degrees at 2 PM. We will top out close to or just below the 85 degrees average.
Warmer and more muggy air will temporarily move our way tomorrow. Highs will get into the upper 80s for one day before a cold front swings through. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible with the front as it moves through tomorrow. But this front is a quick mover and will be gone by Wednesday. Expect another dose of dry, comfortable air behind this front Wednesday and Thursday.
The heat and eventually humidity/dewpoints will start to build again late in the week - just in time for the holiday weekend. We will be watching for another weak storm to pass mainly north of us this weekend. It may spark a few thunderstorms along the way, but we will keep you updated on its progress as we head through the week.
