WEATHER BLOG: Hot Holiday

Light flow with weak high pressure and some low level moisture could result in patchy low clouds or patchy fog for a couple of hours Saturday morning. Otherwise, we have a warm and somewhat humid day with more sun than clouds. We have a weak front up to the northwest Saturday morning that will get a little push southward by high pressure over Ontario. However, we also have a ridge of high pressure down over the southern Appalachians into the western Atlantic to the north of Beryl, so this front will not make a big push southward. Just ahead of and along this front Saturday afternoon there will be enough moisture and instability for a few thunderstorms to bubble up with the threat to get wet lasting into the early part of evening.

There is no widespread severe weather threat with this slow-moving front, but any of the storms that develop late Saturday afternoon and last into the evening can contain downpours and gusty winds. We may have some low clouds and fog fill in again late Saturday and any shower or thunderstorm should be gone by midnight.
