WEATHER BLOG: Beautiful Day

What a day weatherwise!

The temperatures went down to the 50s overnight and only topped out near 80 degrees Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, the dewpoints dropped all the way down to the 40s, indicating just how much this air has dried out.

It's going to be another beautiful night. Temperatures will drop back down to the 50s. Then, we will remain dry and breezy Wednesday but temperatures will start creeping up a bit. It will still be comfortable with highs in the mid 80s. However, that warming trend really kicks in for the second half of the week. Both temperatures and dewpoints will start to really build again. Highs will be back in the 90s starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend, while dewpoints get back into the 60s.

The chance for a late day shower or thunderstorm returns to the Mid-Atlantic starting Friday. This is still just the chance, but something could pop up each afternoon/evening through the weekend.

As for Debby...
Debby made landfall at Steinhatchee, Fla. just before 5 p.m. as a tropical storm with winds of 40 mph. Debby is still hanging on to its tropical storm status as of 5 p.m., but will likely drop to a topical depression in the next update (because all it has to do is drop below 39 mph for that to happen). It still looks like Debby will move across Florida and then back out to the Atlantic side, where it will start to gain more strength again. At this point, it looks like Debby will stay south of Maryland as it moves farther out to sea...but we will keep you updated on that.
