BGE Work At Naval Academy Could Cause Gas Odor

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Residents who live near the Naval Academy in Annapolis could smell natural gas as a result of utility work by Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.

On Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., utility crews plan to introduce natural gas into a pipe installed for the Naval Academy.

As part of the process, some natural gas will be vented.

Residents who live along King George Street from College Avenue to Randall Street could smell the gas.

BGE's Gas Construction Group will monitor the operation. The city's fire and public works departments also have been notified.
