Founder of the event, John Gold, initially decided to put together a beer club that would meet monthly and focus its efforts on promoting the beer scene in Baltimore. In 2008, when the Philly Beer Week was held, the group began researching what it would take to sponsor a Baltimore event; thus, Baltimore Beer Week was born. The Opening Tap Celebration will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 at M&T Bank Stadium. Check the website for ticket and event information.
