The park has always been a popular destination for families.  Make sure to bring the kids to these popular sites for family fun and exercise.

Gunpowder Falls State Park covers close to 18,000 acres with over 100 miles of trails.  Located in Harford and Baltimore Counties, Gunpowder Falls offers youth group camping opportunities that take full advantage of the 1,500 feet of beach and swimming area along the Gunpowder River.  Families can rent equipment to windsurf, kayak and rowboat.  The Sweet Air area has plenty of hidden trails that make for opportune horseback riding and mountain biking.  Children of all ages have plenty of activities to choose from at the scenic Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Druid Hill Park is one of the oldest landscaped public parks in the United States, and it still provides for quality, family fun.  With close to 800 acres of beautiful landscape, the Druid Hill Park is also home to the Maryland Zoo.  Kids have a playground and a frisbee field to run around.  For team play, there are softball and baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts and a basketball court.  After 150 years, there is still plenty of reason to spend a sunny day at Druid Hill Park.

Many Baltimore residents refer to Patterson Park as the Best Background of Baltimore.  Patterson Park's season is year-round with a boat lake and an ice skating rink.  Plenty of sporting teams come to Patterson Park to play at Utz Stadium and their multi-use playing fields.  For those looking to join a sports club, kids can play on soccer teams, swim teams and participate in tennis clinics.  With a fine view of the Harbor, Patterson Park will be a recurring trip in your family's plans.

Kids love rolling down hills and at Federal Hill Park, there is plenty of real estate to tumble head over heels.  A big playground sits on top the enormous hill that is nothing has well maintained grass slopes.  Federal Hill Park is located on the southern side of the Inner Harbor and is enriched with history.  The tall hill was a look-out point during the War of 1812 and the Civil War.  After the creation of the U.S. Constitution, 4,000 Baltimore residents walked up the steep hill to celebrate.

Jump from tire to tire at Patapsco State Park's Scrap Tire Playground.  Outside to the west of Baltimore, the Scrap Tire Playground is a local secret and lies in the middle of Patapsco.  The playground is made from recycled truck and car tires, and kids will spend hours discovering ways to crawl, jump and swing from end to end.  Patapsco State Park stretches for 32 miles along the Patapsco River and provides multiple pavilions and picnicking areas.  Swing on over to Patapsco State Park, and your children will make treads of their own.
