Best Fall Concerts In Baltimore

As summer ends and autumn begins, the concert season in Baltimore continues. Whether it's pop, hip-hop, rock, country, bluegrass or classic music, Baltimore has it. Music and Baltimore have been partners since the city's founding. Well known for its symphony orchestra, Baltimore is equally renown for its contemporary music artists. Here are a few of the upcoming concerts being offered in the area.

Legends of the Summer: Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z

Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z take to the stage for a Baltimore bash at the M&T Bank Stadium, as part of their summer stadium tour. Among the most popular performers in the country, they continue to sell out at their nationwide stadium tour locations. A veteran performer, Timberlake began his career at age 12, with the Mickey Mouse Club. Later, he rose to fame with N'Sync. In elementary school, Jay-Z began to exhibit his musical talent and by the time he was 18, his performances had been featured on several mix tapes in New York. Selling his own produced CDs out of his car, he achieved national recognition with the release of his first record in the late 1990s.

30th Anniversary Arcadia Fall Bluegrass Festival

For three full days of bluegrass, the annual Arcadia Fall Bluegrass Festival is the place to be. Held rain or shine at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company in Upperco, this year's event features music by Fair Mountain, Hickory Hill, Aspen Run, Jay Armsworthy & Eastern Tradition, Circa Blue, Larry Efaw and the Bluegrass Mountaineers, Goldwing Express, Robbie Reno and The Reno Tradition, David Davis and The Warrior River Boys and more.

Join conductor Jack Everly and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for an evening mix of jazz, cabaret, samba and musicals from Hollywood. The Gala Concert with the ensemble Pink Martini includes music from around the globe. With a salute to Marvin Hamlish and Barbara Streisand, the concert will feature the vocal stylings of Ann Hampton Callaway and will also feature "Star Trek" star George Takei.


WTMD: First Thursdays Concerts in the Park

Throughout the summer and fall, WTMD presents free concerts with its First Thursdays at Mount Vernon Park (ends Sept. 5). For the last performance of the season, organizers are presenting Joseph Arthur, an Ohio native, who began his folk-rock career with Real World Records in the 1990s after being discovered by Peter Gabriel. Also, Letitia Van Sant Robson, aka Sandy Robson, brings her unique brand of country and local folk music to the stage. In 2012, she released her country album "Breakfast Truce" to area acclaim.
