Best Cupcakes In Maryland

Cupcakes are a fantastic treat and very popular right now.  It might have something to do with the fact that they're a (relatively) healthy alternative to a lot of desserts because they're smaller  or it could just be that they're incredibly tasty.  Either way, we're lucky to live in Baltimore because there are a lot of wonderful places to get cupcakes nearby.

Depending on the day you go, you'll find plenty of tasty treats.  There's always vanilla and chocolate but different days offer options ranging from mermaid fudge truffle to chocolate peanut butter.  The Baltimore Cupcake Company also has locations in Annapolis, Ocean City and Bethany Beach.  Cupcakes are $3.25 each.

Cakelove offers delicious and adorable cupcakes.  There are the obligatory chocolate, vanilla and red velvet offerings, but you can also get flavors like s'mores, neapolitan and banana split.  If you're not in the mood for cupcakes, there are plenty of other options: mini cheesecakes, eclairs and pumpkin rolls, to name a few.  There are locations in DC, Virginia and Oxon Hill.  Cupcakes are $3.25 each.

Charm City Cupcakes is a cupcake lover's dream.  There are breakfast cupcakes (because it's the most important meal of the day), gourmet cupcakes and even a Jamaican Rum cupcake.  They do special orders for cupcakes and will even deliver.  Cupcakes range from $2.50 to $3.

Georgetown Cupcake has 10 cupcakes available every day, plus an additional five flavors (based on the day) and between two and nine more flavors based on the month.  In December, you can try a chocolate egg nog cupcake or enjoy an Irish cream cupcake on St. Patrick's Day.  There's a flavor for everyone's sweet tooth.  There's also a store in Washington DC.  Cupcakes are $2.75 each.

These cupcakes are occasionally in the store but typically only available by special order.  But with flavors like peanut butter and jelly, heirloom rose, and red velvet, it will be worth the trouble.  You can also buy cakes, tarts and cheesecakes.
