Armed suspect shot and killed by police in southeast Baltimore

A suspect was shot and killed by police in southeast Baltimore Tuesday night. Police received a report of an armed person and a person who was threatening someone with a gun in the area of 6800 Bank Street about 9:14 p.m. 

Police located the suspect on a bike in the area of 6500 Eastern Avenue.

According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley, officers tackled the suspect and wrestled him. The suspect then allegedly fired a weapon close to the officers. 

Two officers returned fire and shot the suspect, who is an adult male. The suspect, who has not been identified, was killed. 

No officers were injured in the shooting.

The Attorney General's office will investigate the shooting. 

The shooting happened near the exit ramp of I-95 south. The on ramp and off ramp for exit 59 were closed while police investigated the shooting.
