Baltimore Orioles Get New Uniforms

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Orioles have a new look!

The team unveiled new uniforms Tuesday morning, and Mary Bubala reports they're going old school.

The cartoon bird is back! It's a slight variation from the 70s and 80s bird. Fans are liking the vintage look for the Orioles 2012 season.

"I am extremely excited for them to go back to the old look, kind of remind us of the old days of when there was success around here. Maybe it will bring back that mentality," said fan Justin Hillman.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the ballpark, every jersey has a special patch on the sleeve. Also, for the first time since the 1992 season, the Orioles will wear orange jerseys for Saturday home games.

"If a winning streak starts or they play particularly well, I have a feeling, you know, Buck and the guys may want to wear them more often," said Orioles Director of Communication Greg Bader.

The new merchandise is already available at the store at Camden Yards. It will be at other retail stores in the next couple of weeks.

"I couldn't wait. I found out all about it a couple of weeks ago. I went all over Glen Burnie today to try and find one for me, my brother and my dad. I couldn't find one so I came up here to get one," said fan Jake Theiss.

Allison Pedrick made a special trip to the store at Camden Yards to buy a hat with the new logo to surprise her fiance.

"He's a die-hard Orioles fan. He's been talking about it for a couple of weeks. I thought I would come down here and grab him one," Pedrick said.

The new uniform designs are also available for fans on the Orioles website.
