Baltimore Organizations Plan Remembrances For Orlando Victims
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- At least two events planned for Monday evening in Baltimore will serve to honor the victims of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
Members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra have organized a remembrance concert for 5:30 p.m. at City Cafe on Cathedral Street.
They invited musicians to gather with their instruments for an hour of "reflective music."
Members of several LGBTQ groups -- the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland, FreeState Legal and Equality Maryland, the LGBT Health Resource Center of Chase Brexton Health Care and others -- are also honoring the lives lost in Orlando over the weekend.
They are inviting people to gather for speakers, performances and a candlelight vigil at The Ynot Lot -- located at 4 W. North Avenue -- at 7 p.m. They are asking participants to bring candles if they can.
