Baltimore Officers Search For Police Impersonator
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are searching for a police impersonator.
According to police, Southern District officers were on patrol in the 21-hundred block of McHenry Street when they saw a silver Chevy Malibu activate emergency red and blue lights and a siren. Officers did not recognize it as a police car and turned around to investigate. When the suspect saw the car turn around, he turned off the headlights and sped away.
Officers say a car with a similar description was used in several recent robberies. Police are investigating whether the suspect or suspect is impersonating an officer while committing robberies.
The vehicle is a late model silver Chevy Malibu. The driver could be armed with a handgun.
If you see this car, please call 911.
If you are stopped by someone claiming to be an officer and they are not in uniform, you can call 911 to verify their identity.
