Baltimore County volunteer firefighter arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting co-worker
A man was arrested after sexually assaulting his coworker in early May, Baltimore County Police announced on Friday.
On May 5, at 9:30 a.m., officers say they responded to the 10000 block of Liberty Road for reports of a sexual assault.
According to officials, a woman reported to them that an adult male, identified as 26-year-old Xavier Dove, had sexually assaulted her three days prior, on May 2.
An investigation was conducted, and it was later revealed that both the woman and Dove worked together as volunteer firefighters. The two were assigned to the Liberty Road Fire Station in Baltimore County.
Officers issued a warrant for Xavier's arrest and have since located and taken him into custody, per the Baltimore County Police Department. He is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Dove also works in Howard County as a career firefighter, Fire Chief Louis Winston said. He is on leave from the department.
"Firefighter Dove was off duty from [Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services] at the time of the incident," Winston said in a statement. "He has been an employee of HCDFRS since 2022. The incident is currently under investigation."
WJZ has reached out to the attorney for Dove.
