Bail Denied For Teen Charged In AACo. Love Triangle Slayings

LOTHIAN, Md. (WJZ)—Bail has been denied for an 18-year-old charged in a double murder in Anne Arundel County on October 5.

The killings surround a burst of tensions after a three-way love affair grows old.

Police responded to a home in Lothian after Anthony Anastasi Jr., 40, and his girlfriend, Jacqueline Riggers, 25, were reported dead.

Anastasi Jr. was found shot to death in his master bedroom. His girlfriend was found in the basement, brutally stabbed in the upper body.

The man's wife, Ann Anastasi, who was involved in the love triangle, told police her husband committed suicide, but police discovered that the gun near his body didn't match evidence at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Ann Anastasi, her 13-year-old daughter, and her daughter's 18-year-old boyfriend, Gabriel Struss, all plotted the killings months before.

Police say Mrs. Anastasi and her daughter plotted the killing and had the teen's boyfriend carry it out.

According to charging documents, the 13-year-old even discussed through text messages "taking the fall, or blame" for her boyfriend.

Struss' family is now speaking out.

"I know he hung out with that girl a couple of times. He's a teenager. He did what kids do," his brother said.

"He's never done nothing, as I know of. Never. He's been manipulated into doing this," said Struss' grandfather.

All three are charged with first degree murder and remain behind bars. Ann Anastasi was denied bail on Friday. Her daughter remains in a juvenile facility.

Anthony Anastasi Jr. and Ann had five children together, charging documents show.
