At Least 3 Hurt After MTA Bus Almost Hits East Baltimore Home

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A close call. WJZ is learning more about an MTA bus that narrowly missed ramming into a home in east Baltimore. At least three people were hurt in the crash.

George Solis has the latest details on the crash.

The front porch took the brunt of the damage and because of it, the home is now condemned. People in the neighborhood were shocked and are only speaking with WJZ.

A banged car, torn up lawn and a slew of police are the aftermath of an MTA bus crash late Thursday night in east Baltimore. WJZ obtained exclusive photos of the wreck that somehow ended with the bus mere inches from the front door but still damaging the porch.

One man pointed out the loop buses ordinarily take is right next to the crash site.

Not much is known about the near miss---except it started when the bus driver crashed into a Lexus.

Two guys could hardly believe the images.

"Somebody about to get paid. MTA is going to have to kick out some money," said one.

"I hope nobody got hurt. Did they?" said another.

Three people were hurt in the crash, including the bus driver. MTA isn't saying much except that the accident is under investigation.

"We don't have many details as to what caused the bus crash. We're hoping to have some information soon," said Sandy Arnett, MTA.

The house wasn't the only thing to get quite the beating. Caregivers at the Golden Pond say their fence took a pretty big hit, too.

Nurses at the adult daycare program say no one was there at the time of the crash and no one is currently living at the home.

Friday, people seemed a little extra cautious around the neighborhood.

People we spoke with say they've seen a number of close calls on this road but nothing as bad as this. The MTA says they're still reviewing the crash and damage.

Those injured are all expected to be okay.
