Alan Gross Speaking About His Ordeal In Cuban Prison
POTOMAC, Md. (WJZ) -- The Maryland man who spent more than five years in a Cuban prison, accused of spying, is finally speaking about his ordeal.
Alan Gross, who lives in Montgomery County, was arrested in 2009 while working as a government contractor.
Last December, Gross was freed on what the Cuban government called humanitarian grounds.
Gross sat down with CBS' Scott Pelley to talk about his time in prison.
Pelley: "Did you think in those early days, 'Boy, the U.S. government's going to get me out of here in the next week or so.'"
Gross: "Oh, I absolutely did for the first two weeks. And then I said to myself, 'Where the hell are they? Where are they?' I didn't have any idea I'd be there for five years."
You can watch the entire interview with Alan Gross coming up on 60 Minutes this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. right after NFL football on WJZ-TV.
