Missing Persons Investigation Prompts Lock Down In AACo.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Authorities in Anne Arundel County say South River High School was briefly on lockdown due to a critical missing person investigation.

"At this time, we are investigating a check well being of a critical missing 18-year-old male that is believed to be possibly heading towards the area of South River High School," police said. "Out of an abundance of caution, numerous officers are in the area looking for the subject."

The lockdown was lifted just before 3:00 p.m.

Police say they were searching for a critical missing person driving a late model silver Acura TL with Maryland registration 7FRT24.

The man is not a student at South River High School or any other school in Anne Arundel County, police said,  however he does reside in the Edgewater area.

The man 18-year-old was later located safe. Officers located the vehicle on Solomons Island Road near Lee Airport.
