A round of showers and storms will impact Maryland Saturday night
Ahead of a stretch of drier and pleasant weather, another round of widespread rain and a few storms will impact our area this evening into tonight.
Rainy, rumbly evening ahead for the Baltimore metro
A broken line of showers and storms will move eastward, towards the Baltimore metro, bay and eastern shore. Brief heavy rain and frequent lightning will accompany thunderstorms. The heaviest rain is expected to fall across southern Maryland and the lower eastern shore. A couple storms may become severe with gusty winds in northern Virginia.

Temperatures settle back into the upper 60s and 70s with scattered rain continuing into the early morning hours of Sunday.
The forecast improves for Sunday plans. Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s on Sunday afternoon, with more sunshine. Only hit-or-miss showers and storms are expected on Sunday afternoon and early evening.
Pleasant weather for the first day of school in parts of Maryland
Monday marks the first day of school for several school districts.
The weather will be almost ideal as students head back to the classroom with dry afternoons, cooler temperatures and low humidity through midweek.
The chance of unsettled weather goes back up as we head into the end of the week.
