Pleasant weather continues as students head back to school on Monday

The stretch of dry weather that began Sunday will continue through the start of the new workweek. Looking ahead, stormier weather is expected to return later this week. 

Nice weather continues in Baltimore for the first day of school

Baltimore City, Howard, Anne Arundel, Queen Anne's and Talbot County Schools are back on Monday in varying capacities. It will feel comfortably-cool on Monday morning, with many neighborhoods waking up to temperatures in the low to mid-60s across the immediate metro. A few spots outside of the Baltimore Beltway will dip into the upper 50s early Monday. Students' walk to the bus stop features dry weather. 

Under plenty of sunshine, temperatures warm into the lower 80s on Monday afternoon, with low humidity. The same general weather, lows in the 60s and highs in the low to mid-80s, will continue through the middle of the week. 

Humidity remains low through Wednesday afternoon. 

Rain and thunderstorms return to Maryland late this week

The chance of unsettled weather goes back up as we head into the end of the week. The chance of wet weather starts to creep up as early as Wednesday night, with a bigger spike on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Afternoon temperatures will also nudge back up into the upper 80s. It will feel a little hotter with increasing humidity factored in.

An early look at the Ravens' pre-season game against the Washington Commanders includes temperatures in the mid-80s and a chance of scattered showers and storms. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium. The First Alert Weather Team will continue fine-tune the forecast as Friday approaches.
