IRS sees jump in Social Security identity thefts

The Internal Revenue Service says it has seen a big jump in thieves stealing Social Security numbers to file fraudulent tax refunds. The agency says it launched nearly 1,500 criminal identity theft investigations last year -- 66 percent more than the year before, plus more MoneyWatch headlines from Wendy Gillette.
