Candidate backed by Trump loses Alabama primary race

President Trump and the GOP establishment suffered a severe setback in the U.S. Senate primary run-off in Alabama. Tuesday's winner, Roy Moore, is a religious right-wing favorite who was thrown off Alabama's Supreme Court twice. Moore defeated Luther Strange, who was appointed to replace Jeff Sessions.
