Almanac: Hubble Space Telescope

Twenty-six years ago today the Hubble Space Telescope was lifted into orbit on board the space shuttle Discovery. Named for astronomer Edwin Hubble, the telescope was designed to peer deep into space – but NASA soon found itself having to correct a fatal flaw in the telescope's vision. Charles Osgood reports
