WHO declares "public health emergency" as monkeypox cases surge internationally

The World Health Organization is now calling the monkeypox outbreak "a public health emergency." The virus spreads mainly through skin-to-skin contact and can cause a fever and rash. There are more than 16,000 reported cases around the world and nearly 3,000 in the U.S.
