--President Trump called out Russian President Vladimir Putin for failing to end the war in Ukraine. The one that I thought would be easiest would be because of my relationship with President Putin, but he's let me down.

He urged European countries to stop purchasing Russian oil, while UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged Trump to get even tougher. And it's only when the president has put pressure on Putin that he's actually shown any inclination to move. So we have to ramp that pressure up.

When it comes to resolving the war in Gaza, the two leaders do not agree on one key point. In the coming days, Starmer is expected to recognize a Palestinian state. It's part of that overall package which, hopefully, takes us from the appalling situation we're in now to the outcome of a safe and secure Israel.

Trump also announced he wants the US to retake Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan after the military abandoned it in 2021. The Taliban took control of it when the Afghan government fell. Trump didn't say how the US might regain control. We want that base back, but one of the reasons we want the base is, as you know, it's an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons.

China is also at the center of a new agreement to keep TikTok operating in the US. Trump says multiple American companies will co-own the app. President Trump plans to speak to Chinese President Xi Jinping today with hopes of finalizing a deal.
