Public schools being shuttered as enrollment declines
Across the country, public schools have lost more than one million students since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to data from the Education Department. The drop in enrollment has prompted some districts to shut down schools completely. One of those districts is in Jefferson County, Colorado.
