--the last total. So when you look at the numbers, Republicans are outraising, when you include that PAC, Democrats by three. So it is heading into an election cycle where Democrats seem to have the advantage, at least the historic advantage, certainly with the incumbent being a Republican in the White House. That should swing votes Democrats' way. But then you also have the big affordability discussion, and Democrats are essentially winning that when we see it in the polls. But money is a huge factor in elections and in politics. The ability to buy ad time is paramount, and Democrats have a lot of ground to make up. In the sense, Dave, that you cannot use money to push back a wave but you can use money to make a wave less destructive. A wave is a wave, and it's going to slosh over some and take out members, either in Democratic wave years or Republican wave years. But if you have extra money, you can protect those who are suddenly vulnerable down the stretch. Winning the money race doesn't win you the election. All you have to do is ask Donald Trump about that. But at the same time, too, if you don't have the requisite resources to do exactly what you just described, you're going to get yourself in trouble, and you're going to be putting yourself at a structural disadvantage going into that election. I think one thing to note from some of the new filings that came out over the weekend is that Democrats who love to talk about dark money and Citizens Unitedand all these things that they have long held up as evil, some of the biggest donors to the super PACs supporting Democrats are, in fact, dark-money organizations associated with those super PACs. So what that says is, in a major way, that the proverbial gloves are off, and they are willing to do anything to close that gap and try to make that money race a little tighter.
