Nancy Drew turns 50

The ageless teenage detective, created by Edward Stratemeyer, was celebrated at a 50th birthday party in New York City, featuring Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet Stratemeyer Adams, who herself wrote more than 50 Nancy Drew mysteries following her father's death. Charles Osgood attends the festivities. Originally broadcast on the "CBS Evening News" on April 17, 1980.
